CURRENT AND FUTURE PROJECTS
Through active survey and collection work, ZAHBRI is continuing the decades old work of documenting and cataloguing the current state of Zambia's floral heritage while trying to preserve the historical work that has already be done.
Zambia's abundant plant riches could help to contribute to the economic growth of the country. Thus, ZAHBRI projects seek to increase our scientific knowledge and understanding of botany and horticulture within Zambia.
Projects
Below is a list of some of the activites we are working towards.

We aim to strengthen networks between private individuals who are passionate about indigenous plants and are committed to conserving them through the creation of private reserves, conservatories or botanical gardens or arboretums.

We aim to produce and distribute digital media of Zambian indigenous plants, presented in a local context so we can educate and generate interest in preserving Zambian plants.

The late Mike Bingham was a naturalist who contributed a wealth of knowledge and experience to the pool of knowledge of indigenous flora and fauna. This proposed library aim to digitise existing resources and research and make them publicly available for information purposes.

Research into indigenous plants.

Testing of new commercial climate resistant food crops.

We are in the initial stages of designing a research facility to hold living and dry specimens.
